At Property Tenders, we’ve launched a new initiative called “Behind the Business” where we highlight local, family-run companies in Sussex County. Recently, we had the privilege of stepping behind the scenes at one of our favorite spots—Bethany Brewing Company in Ocean View, Delaware.

Meet Larry and Gary – The Beer Wizards 🍺

Our tour was led by two incredible people:

  • Larry, who brings a strong background in the manufacturing industry and has transformed his skills into the craft of brewing.

  • Gary, a brewer with a successful brewery in Florida, who brings his wealth of beer knowledge to the Bethany Brewing team.

Together, they are the technical wizards of the hops—sharing their expertise, passion, and humor while showing us what it really takes to make great local beer.

Behind the Scenes of Oktoberfest

We got a firsthand look at the brewing process, including preparations for their popular Oktoberfest beer. At 9 a.m., we watched Larry hard at work, making sure locals and visitors alike can enjoy fresh, handcrafted beer brewed right here in Sussex County.

From the aroma of the grains to the precision of the brewing process, it was a reminder that small businesses like Bethany Brewing put heart and soul into every pint.
